Terms of Service
The plain version: Saving breadcrumbs is free and unlimited — no card, no count, no time limit. If you want to add AI platforms of your own, and use unlimited pins, folders and automatic tagging, it's £0.99 a month, and that price is locked for three years from the day you join. We provide the Hyphælium software and vault either way. Your breadcrumbs are yours. You may not copy or redistribute the software. Either of us can end the arrangement at any time. We are honest about what we can and cannot guarantee.
1. Who we are
Hyphælium is an independent venture operated as a sole trader, based in Burton upon Trent, United Kingdom. References to "Hyphælium", "we", "us" or "our" refer to that operator. References to "you" or "member" refer to the person who has created an account, whether free or paid, and "subscriber" to a member on the paid plan. Contact: support@hyphaelium.com
2. What the service is
Hyphælium is a browser userscript and associated vault service that allows members to save breadcrumb records of AI conversations across multiple platforms. For each breadcrumb, the service records the platform name, the conversation URL, the title of the conversation page, the opening words of your first message (so you can find the thread again), and a timestamp. It also keeps the organising choices you make — pins, folders and topic tags — and links between related breadcrumbs. It does not store the rest of the conversation, the AI's responses, or anything you typed after that opening message.
The service is provided as described on our website at hyphaelium.com. We reserve the right to add, modify or remove features with reasonable notice.
3. Free use, and the paid plan
Signing up to Hyphælium is free. No card is required to create an account. Saving breadcrumbs is unlimited on every plan — there is no count and no time limit — and your breadcrumbs remain yours, fully accessible and searchable, for as long as your account exists, whether or not you ever subscribe.
The free plan covers the built-in platforms listed on our website, with a limited number of pins and folders. The paid plan, at £0.99 per month billed monthly through Stripe, adds the ability to use platforms beyond the built-in list and to add your own, together with unlimited pins and folders and automatic topic tagging. Payment is due at the start of each billing period. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which your account returns to the free plan. Nothing you have saved or organised is removed; anything beyond the free plan's limits (for example folders beyond the free allowance) stays as it is, but you will not be able to add more of it until you are back within the limits or resubscribe. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
Price guarantee. The monthly price you subscribe at is fixed for three years from the date your subscription begins (for anyone already subscribed on 22 September 2026, from that date). After that we may change your price on 30 days' written notice by email, and you may cancel before the change takes effect. Price changes for new subscribers do not affect you during your three years. If you cancel and later resubscribe, the price then on offer applies and a new three-year period begins.
4. Your rights to use the service
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Hyphælium userscript on your own devices, access and use the vault service, and access the documentation provided. This licence applies from the moment you create a free account, and continues on the same basis whether you stay on the free plan or later subscribe. This licence covers Hyphælium only. It does not include, and is not a substitute for, any subscription or account you may need with the AI platforms themselves — those remain your own responsibility. This licence is for personal use only and does not permit commercial redistribution or resale.
5. What you may not do
You agree not to:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute or publicly display any part of the Hyphælium software, design, text or documentation without our written permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the software
- Modify or create derivative works based on the software or any associated material
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable law or the terms of the AI platforms you use alongside it
- Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
- Use the service for any commercial purpose other than your own personal or professional use
6. Intellectual property
All intellectual property in the Hyphælium service — including the software, the Forward manifesto, the visual design, the brand name, the hyphal icon, and all associated documentation — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and, where registered, trademark law.
The Forward manifesto ("No thought left behind") is an original literary work. It may be shared for personal, non-commercial purposes provided the authorship and source are clearly attributed. It may not be reproduced commercially or incorporated into other works without written permission.
Your breadcrumb data belongs to you. We claim no ownership over it and will never use it for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
7. Your data
We handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. In summary: we store only the minimum data necessary to provide the service — the platform, the conversation link, the page title, the opening words of your first message, a timestamp, and the organising choices you make. We do not store the body of your conversations or the AI's responses, and we do not sell your data. To link related breadcrumbs and suggest topic tags, short extracts (a title and opening words) are analysed by an AI provider, as the Privacy Policy explains. You can delete any breadcrumb yourself from your vault at any time. To export your data, or to delete your whole account, email privacy@hyphaelium.com.
8. Service availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service depends on third-party infrastructure — including our hosting, database, AI-analysis and payment providers — which is outside our direct control.
Important: Hyphælium works by reading publicly visible elements of AI platform interfaces. When those platforms update their interfaces — which they do regularly and without notice — certain functions may temporarily stop working. Capture on platforms you add yourself is best-effort and may not work on every platform. We monitor for such changes and aim to issue fixes promptly. This is an inherent characteristic of browser-based software of this kind and does not constitute a failure of service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of business, loss of profits or any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
You may cancel your subscription, or close your free account, at any time by emailing us at support@hyphaelium.com. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay where a subscription is in place, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, you may request an export of your breadcrumb data, and it will be deleted within 30 days of your request.
11. Changes to these terms
We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
